Apps

ViOffice itself does not currently offer its own apps for the PC or smartphone, but is fully compatible with a large number of existing, established applications thanks to the open standards used by ViOffice.

However, please note that these apps are not developed by the ViOffice team. We cannot be held liable for any errors in this software or any resulting damage and refer you to our terms of use.

If you have any questions about the setup and use of these apps, feel free to contact our support.

    PC: Windows, MacOS, Linux

    Synchronisation

Nextcloud Sync is fully compatible with ViOffice Cloud and synchronizes your data between the server and any number of end devices in real time in the background.

    Calendar, Contacts & Email

Thunderbird is the email client we recommend, as this FOSS program is easy to use, offers a wide range of features and can even synchronize calendars and contacts easily from ViOffice ViOffice Calendar.

    Conference

If you do not want to use ViOffice Conference in your web browser, you have the option to use the desktop client for Jitsi-Meet developed by the Jitsi project. This is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux (64-bit only) and offers improved performance as well as some additional features, such as an overview of past conferences and a floating window for your own camera view.

If you open the application for the first time, you first have to enter your ViOffice Conference URL in the settings (gearwheel symbol in the upper left corner) and there under "Advanced settings", e.g. "https://conference01.vioffice.de". Then close the settings again with the arrow in the upper left corner.

Attention: The Jitsi-Meet desktop client is not compatible with the conference planning tool (see: Helpcenter: ViOffice Conference)!

Since this is an experimental application, it can only be downloaded directly via Github so far. Use the following downloads for this:

    Microsoft Windows Download
    macOS Download
    GNU/Linux Download

    Web Apps

If you use Mozilla Firefox, GNOME Web, Google Chrome or also its Open Souce variant Chromium on your Windows, MacOS or GNU/Linux PC, you can easily create web apps to access the individual functions of ViOffice directly from the application launcher of your operating system.

ViOffice or individual components of it, such as the ViOffice e-mail client, ViOffice Talk or any other ViOffice function, can thus be opened in a separate window without a web browser and behave almost like "native" applications.

    In Mozilla Firefox

To do this, open the ViOffice function you want to convert to a web app and click the "..." menu button on the right side in the address bar. In the menu that appears, select the sub-item "Use this Site in App Mode". A window appears, which contains only the ViOffice interface. It can be opened again at a later time from the hamburger menu, top right in Firefox by the sub-item "Sites in App Mode".

    In Google Chrome and Chromium

To do this, open the ViOffice function that you want to convert into a web app and click on the "More tools" sub-item in the Chrome menu at the very top right. There select the item "Create shortcut". A window will appear containing only the ViOffice interface. Chrome has also created an entry in the application launcher of your operating system to call the respective shortcut directly from there without having to open Chrome itself.

    Android

    Synchronisation

Nextcloud Client (F-Droid Store) allows access to files, documents and many other functions of Nextcloud. Also included is ViOffice Sheets directly from the smartphone.

    Chat

Nextcloud Talk (F-Droid Store) gives you full access to ViOffice Talk for chatting via text or video call directly on your smartphone. The app also informs you about new messages.

    Deck / Tasks

Nextcloud Deck (F-Droid Store) allows viewing and editing team tasks in ViOffice Deck and informs you immediately about changes in the task stack.

    Passwordmanager

Passman is the perfect complement if you want to make use of the ViOffice password manager integrated in ViOffice. The app constantly synchronizes passwords with your device and allows password-secured access to your information stored there.

    Calendar und Contacts

DavX5 (F-Droid Store) or also OpenSync synchronize your calendars and contacts from ViOffice Calendar and ViOffice Contacts directly with the smartphone, so that you always and everywhere keep the overview.

However, if you have activated two-factor authentication in your account, you must first create an "app password". To do this, open the VO Cloud in your web browser and select the "Security" menu item under Settings (top right). Scroll all the way down here and create a new "App Password". Use this to log in to Calendar Sync App. Alternatively, you can also initiate the process via the Nextcloud Sync app, which supports two-factor authentication. In this case, no app password is required, but your usual login.

    Conference

Jitsi Meet (F-Droid Store) can be used to join already existing conferences in ViOffice Conference or to open new conferences. Just enter your personal conference link in the "Server" field of the app, e.g. "https://conference01.vioffice.de".

    Web Apps

On Android, you can use ViOffice and individual functions of it as a web app via Chrome or Firefox. To do this, open the desired ViOffice function in Google Chrome or Safari on your Android device. Tap the small house icon in the address bar of your browser. A ViOffice icon will appear on your homescreen, which you can now easily open and use.
